Our story
A TABLE FOR TWO
Our story starts not as mere event curators, but with the dreams of bringing people together. Our professional journey began in what we will always call the brand of our lives, Porsche. Here, in the realm of luxury cars and high-profile events, we found that our customers thrive, simply because we all shared the same passion. We could focus on curating unique events, and set the table for creating new, and meaningful connections. And so our creative heads turned to look in a new direction.
Our collective joy of exploring has since then led us to further experiencing Oslo’s diverse culinary scene. A vibrant life that is felt in small, startup-up restaurants and the passion that lives there. Motivated by a commitment to transcend digital noise, we fused our experiences and created a platform designed to celebrate the craft of meaningful conversations. This endeavor is more than a start-up dream; it’s a deliberate invitation to disconnect from virtual “noise” and engage in the depth of real relationships. We wanted to use real tech to create real talk and extend our dream beyond pixels and screens.
Now our dream is to extend a direct invitation to enthusiasts, food connoisseurs, and individuals seeking genuine connections. Beyond the curated events and gastronomic experiences, our dedication lies in crafting connections that align seamlessly, promising an enriching journey akin to a well-curated conversations around different tables.
When you have a seat at the table, it means you are part of the conversation. And we can’t wait to share these conversations with you.

FAMILY STYLE SERVING. WHAT'S THAT ABOUT?
In the culinary sphere, there’s a notable buzz serving up family style, a principle we love at A Seat at the Table. This dining concept, also known as large format or casual dining, steers away from individualized plating, favoring shared platters or serving dishes presented directly to the table. Guests actively engage in the dining experience, serving themselves from the communal spread circulated among them, fostering a sense of unity and connection. And intuitively creating a setting for communication and social interaction.
While family-style dining is gaining popularity, it’s more than just a passing trend; it echoes a rich history deeply rooted in familial gatherings around the kitchen or dining room table, capturing the essence of shared daily meals. In an era where busy schedules often impede families from gathering for home-cooked meals, family-style dining provides a nostalgic nod to a bygone era.
This concept transcends cultural boundaries, drawing inspiration from diverse global culinary traditions. Whether inspired by the conviviality of Spanish tapas, the communal experience of Korean barbecue, the shared delights of Middle Eastern Mezze, or even here in our own traditions of Norway – family-style serving embodies the spirit of communal dining, fueled by a growing fascination with diverse cuisines.
So, what’s the allure of family-style serving? It’s a celebration of shared moments, a return to the warmth of familial gatherings, and a homage to the universal joy of breaking bread together. At our events, you can anticipate an exploration of the merits of this culinary approach, as we invite you to experience the resurgence of a timeless tradition in the contemporary dining landscape.
